Qu'est-ce que mirimiri ?

Mirimiri is a traditional healing practice of the Māori people of New Zealand. It involves the use of massage, touch, and other techniques to restore balance and harmony to the body, mind, and spirit. The word "mirimiri" means "to rub, massage, or knead" in Māori.

Mirimiri is based on the belief that illness and disease occur when the body's energy is out of balance or in disharmony. The practitioner uses their hands and other tools to manipulate the patient's body, focusing on areas of tension and blockages. Mirimiri practitioners may also use natural elements such as herbs, stones, and oils to enhance the healing process.

Mirimiri is considered both a physical and spiritual practice, as it aims to restore not only the body but also the patient's connection to their cultural and spiritual heritage. It is often used to treat a wide range of physical and psychological conditions, including stress, anxiety, and physical pain.

Today, mirimiri is still practiced by some Māori healers and is increasingly recognized as a legitimate form of healing outside of New Zealand.
